July Prayer Circle--------God's Requirements For Financial Abundance!

When you ask most people what success is to them, they will give you a list of things that has to do with their finances. Financial stability is the desire of everyone. Do we all achieve financial stability or independence? What does God think about money and wealth?

Today Christians are taught to be content and that it's ok to bear the cross in this life and enjoy eternal life. There are so many dedicated Christians who are living in poverty. Do you ever wonder why? Many of us do not know that it is possible to have plenty in this life and also be rich eternally. I personally can not accept suffering in this earthly life now that I know who God is and his mind towards me. I say this because, for example, if your father is a king or president, loves you unconditionally, and he says, do these things and when you ask it will be yours. The choice is then yours, whether you are poor or have enough. God said his plan for us is to prosper us, that we should not worry about what we will eat or drink he knows we need these things. He also says that we should ask and it shall be given unto us, and he will supply our needs according to his riches. Knowing God intentions towards your financial life is a clear assurance that it is possible and in fact glorious to have abundance.

So why do we lack? We lack because we either do not know the criteria for accessing God's riches or we refuse to do what is required to gain access. What does God say we need to do to have abundance? Like God, we parents require our children to do and be a certain way to have unlimited access to our finances and resources. Whether they ever get the unlimited access is based on their choices.

Your financial security depends on two main factors; Your priorities and your work. Do you prioritize life (eternal) or money? Do you put in the work needed to produce abundance or do you only believe God, but do not act? Below are criteria for accessing God's abundance.

July - Set your priorities and do the work

  1. Seek God first (Matt. 6:33)- The desire of every parent is for his/her child to live and inherit their possessions. If money will lead them away from the inheritance, it will be kept away from them. Prioritizing God and his kingdom shows where your heart is and what is more important to you. Is it money or life? God said in Mathew 6:33, if you seek me first I will add every other thing to you.

  2. Be humble and fear God (Prov. 22:4)- A humble spirit means pride will never take over you because of your possessions and God will remain the first in your life. Fearing God is understand that he gave you the wealth and he can take it away. It's respecting God and the instructions he's given you.

  3. Have a selfless motive (James 4:3)- Only God sees the heart and a selfish heart is a bad steward for wealth or abundance. Your motive for abundance has to bring glory to the Father, and you can only achieve that when it is people centered.

  4. Put in the WORK (Prov. 10:4)- Lazy hands make a man poor. Faith without works is dead. God will not set a pot of money at your door, you need to do things he can bless to prosper and give you abundance, such as business, toiling the soil, career, etc,. He has already given you many ideas to work with but it comes down to your choice.

Remember when you pray:

  • Confess your sins to God - 1John 1:9

  • Ask and it will be given - Matthew 7:7

  • Forgive when you pray - Mark 11:25

  • Believe when you pray - Mark 11:24
