HOW TO POSSESS YOUR POSESSIONS

How many of us have seen the plans of God for our lives through dreams, visions, or prophesies? They're always beyond our expectations, and I believe it's only a fraction of what he has in store for us. This glorious plan gives us hope for the future and it gives us something to hold God accountable for. We want our possessions, the ones God has promised. Well, they do not unfold automatically but must be sought after. Obadiah 1:17 says "But upon Mount Zion will be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions." What is the significance of mount Zion in receiving our deliverances and possessions?

Mount Zion is where God dwells (Isaiah 8:18). In Old Testament days, God called his prophets upon a mount to fellowship with them and give them instructions for his people. There were different mountains mentioned in the bible of where God met with his people, but one referenced as where God dwells. Does this mean God is only on that particular literal mountain? No, Mount Zion is symbolic for wherever you fellowship with God and where his presence dwells. To dwell means to remain for a time or to reside somewhere. This means mount Zion could be your home if God dwells there continuously. Mount Zion is the presence of God in a particular place for a time.
We must therefore be in the presence of God continually to receive and maintain deliverance. This is not a one time encounter. Matthew 12:43-44 says when an evil spirit is cast out it goes looking for a place to rest, if it doesn't find one it returns to it's old house. Now if it finds you in the presence of God, and God dwells within you, it can not reenter or have access to you again. If it meets the house unoccupied, it goes and brings 7 more demons more wicked to take possession.
On Mount Zion we receive our possession. Why do we need to be on mount Zion to receive our possessions? No one possesses without engaging in battle. Israel was given a promise to possess a land. Even with God literally abiding with them, they had to fight those who were in possession of their promised possession to take control of it. The kings and people of the lands did not say because God is with you we will just give you the land, instead they fought to their deaths. In modern days, the battle between Russia and Ukraine is for the possession of land. For us to take possession of whatever God has promised, there will be battles. Battles against principalities and powers and rulers of darkness that do not want you take possession. Those that are currently in control of your possession will fight. Those who are threatened by your possession will fight. And often we give up on our possessions when we are engaged in these battles because we didn't anticipate there would be battles to receive them. Be of good cheer for Christ has overcome the world. We have a guarantee of winning all the battles, but only when we are on mount Zion (in the presence of God). We need to be on mount Zion to receive our possessions because it is God who fights the battles not us, we remain on mount Zion to receive instructions on how we obtain victory.
Deliverance and possessing the possessions God has promised us may take long if we do not dwell on mount Zion continually. We must remain in the presence of God to receive power to tramped over serpents and scorpions. Remember, though God has promised us possessions, though he abides with us, we must however fight to take possession, and we become victorious by remaining in the presence of God and allowing him fight the battles for us.
