2 Reasons why we must remain sober

The one thing the devil hates is losing souls to the kingdom of God. His sole purpose on earth is to prevent us from the salvation of Christ even though it's now free to us. The reality is, we have an adversary or enemy that walks around with no other purpose but to devour you, deceive and mislead you. Sadly, he has a good strategy in place to accomplish that. He uses our desires and weaknesses as a means to deceive and mislead us from the calling of God.

What does being sober means? We have commonly associated being sober with not being drunk on wine, which is part of the instruction but not the whole picture. Being sober also means to be level headed, to be wise, and alert, having a cleared and focused mind. Being vigilant is to be watchful, carefully noticing problems or signs of danger from the devil so you're able to resist. We are to do away with complacency and pray consistently without ceasing because the devil walks about like a hungry lion looking for whom he could destroy. Why do you think it's important to be level headed and not intoxicated or distracted?

1. The devil knows God has given you a mind that has the power to know good from evil and you can overcome him when you operate in your right mind, so he waits, waits for moments when your judgement is clouded, when your brain functions and abilities have been impaired by control substances, when you're frustrated, in your lowest moments, then he can easily convince and overcome you.

2. When we are level headed in the word of God, it's quite difficult to be misled or deceived by the devil tactics. You can easily identify his attacks and reverse it through the word of God. So be vigilant my sister, pray without ceasing, keep your faith strong, seek knowledge to understand the steps of the devil, feed your soul and find life, stay humble, forgive, and love God with all your heart.

Dear God, Keep me alert, watchful, and level headed to avoid the traps of the devil. May I not fall victim of his snares but transcend to the next level. Keep me under your wings and give me the will to yield to spiritual things rather than things of the flesh. May your spirit continues to abide with me through the next steps to come. Amen
